28/02/20 : Neil Island

28/02/20 :  Neil Island
Got up for cuppa of tea and chilling around in our verandah, surrounded by coconut palms.   After breakfast, we checked out and back to the dock to take the Makruzz Cruise ship from Havelock Island (Swaraj Deep) to Neil Island (Shahed Deep).

We were then taken by bus to Bharatpur beach, one of the finest beach.  Here we were taken by glass bottom speedboat to the reef to see the fishes and corrals.  It was beautiful experience but shaking of boat, caused stomach upset to some.

Neil Island is one of India’s Andaman Islands, in the Bay of Bengal. Bharatpur Beach has coral reefs teeming with tropical fish. Laxmanpur Beach is known for its sunset views. Howrah Bridge is a natural rock formation accessible at low tide. Near the island’s wharf is Neil Kendra village, with a curving, sandy bay dotted with boats. Off the southeast coast, the tiny Sir Hugh Rose Island is a sanctuary for turtles.

We returned had lunch at the restaurant while Sagar got us checked into one of the most beautiful resort, Summer Sand.  We got a shock of our life, when we were offered suite for each couple.  I think due to poor room booking, we were the lucky ones to get the rooms.

After resting in the afternoon, we left in evening to Laxman beach with dead corals.

Hence after low tide, in the creek fishes are left behind and we went fish hunting.  It was difficult walking on the dead coral creek.  Under the rocks, we found sea cucumber, star fishes, crabs and clams, all types of fishes.  We returned back dead tired to the resort.

This resort had a lovely swimming pool and all of us rushed and jumped into pool and swam away.  There Frankie and Philo alongwith self were teaching our folks to swim.  It was fun.
